Open Mic at the Crypt

With Guest Poet Ruth O’Callaghan

Shout out to all you poets and spoken word enthusiasts!

We’re running another open mic at the Crypt, and we’d love to see you there.

We have our special Guest Ruth O’Callaghan, with what promises to be a special performance.

Tickets: £5 from Eventbrite

Venue:  Crypt Gallery, 23 Church Street, Seaford, BN25 1HD

Date and Time: Saturday 30th of July, 7.30 – 9.30pm

Ruth is the distinguished author of a number of published works of poetry. She is active in organising regular workshops and readings.

From A Rickle of Bones (2020): ‘Ruth O’Callaghan’s poems reflect on loss and commemoration; loss in wars, loss in time, and loss in contact. Her language is eloquent and thoughtful, broad in sweep but perfectly precise in detail. The sequence on the inheritance of the First World War is particularly powerful, an important meditation on those who survived it. They are poems of a proper maturity.’ -George Szirtes
