We must extend our heartfelt thanks to the five poets from the Hastings Stanza group who joined us for an evening of readings and reflections, on Friday the 30th of April.
What a way to end an April, which was such a dry, unusual time – rounded off, in the event, by a drought-breaking evening full of insight into what went into the poems that were shared, and the thinking behind them.
Each of Jill Fricker, Brian Docherty, Jackie Huthinson, Antony Mair and Judith Shaw provided some beautiful, insightful, poignant and even pointed material.
A diversity of subject matter, style and creative form characterised the readings; the chance to ask about each poem, and hear more of the depth behind each, made the evening much more than simply listening to readings, which would have been enough, in itself – a real bonus, as it turned out.
We’ve uploaded three poems, with kind permission, to the “Poems” page; please do take the time to have a read and see what you think – comments are always welcome, we appreciate it.
Seahaven Poets really look forward to the potential for collaboration again in the future – again, out thanks are extended to Hastings Stanza.
We’d also, to round off, like to thank everyone who dialled in to the Zoom to listen and participate in the Q&A sessions; thanks for taking the time out to join us, and we really hope you enjoyed your evening; we hope to see you again soon.
