Bars Are Reina
Globe Bar not far ! Then
Slip along to the Banana Club.
Or fill up at daStation.
No relation to an On the Run petrol creation.
Cotton Club small and has an exclusive air. Very busy. Prices fair.
Vicks Bar to get a bottle of Corona or a jar.
Rothi Shop not for clothes or food but karaoke. Fog, mist and dry ice.
Even Corona, salt and limes by the slice.
Mango Tree to watch the planes land and takeoff. With a Red Stripe nearby.
Country and Western . A saloon with swing doors. Big and packed with music and
people.
Sol y Lune up the stairs towards the heavens.
Office Bar after work with colleagues and friends.
Salty’s for a quiz, bingo or a band. Sports TV on hand.
South Coast Bar and Grill. Breakers, Elvis and Chicharon, giving an atmospheric
thrill.
Everglo Bar no need to go slow.
Where many drinks flow.
Open to one or two in the morning. So late you can hear chickens yawning. As
one drives home in the dawning of a day.
The bars they reign. People escape the stresses of a hard day’s work and maybe
the treadmill of life. A few hours to get away from strife. In a fuzz of alcohol
, hubbly bubbly and other relaxing substances.
Police patrol cars drive slowly and quietly by. Ready to dispense more Red
Stripes at a moment’s notice. Blue lights and flashing amber.
If a fight ensues it’s no holds barred.
Or so says a local bard.
As Island life can be hard !
People’s jobs being so easy to discard.
Leaving lives shattered.
