Ahead sparkling Jasper, Garnet and Rubies
Flickering red and bright.
Towards us come Spodumene and Diamonds
Dazzling and incandescent.
All these gems shining
With a speed that’s indecent.
Amber and Citrine light up, implying
A turn left or right.
Blue flashing Topaz and Sapphires,
Sirens wailing
Indicate a jewel’s failing.
The red and white
Cells at the heart of the Nation.
Flow to their jobs of creation.
In a daily grind
For wealth and riches to find.
Strings of black, chocolate, pink and white pearls inside
Packed metallic cases.
A myriad of faces
Stereos blasting.
News broadcasting.
Drinking coffee
Chewing gum or a toffee.
Strapped in
And trapped in the queue
On the black river.
The pearls shiver !
As the Blues and Twos.
Overtake the queues.
To rescue a stolen gem !
