Amongst coconut palms and fallen husks.
Chomping on the grass and nibbling the odd shoot.
There appears to be a sheep.
Here in the tropics ?
Not what you would expect to see or hear.
A bleat or baa!
It’s true. My eyes do not deceive me.
I continue to stare at a Hair.
So is it a Barbados, St Croix or Katahdin ?
Most likely a Barbados Blackbelly.
It has a black, brown face.
Light tan to mahogany red coat.
Black or black stripes on the under belly.
In the Caribbean region.
To be eaten at any season.
It has a taste much favoured.
As its mild and venison flavoured.
High in protein, low in cholesterol and fat.
To help ward off a heart attack.
Not a muttony taste.
So little goes to waste.
Enjoy the light meat.
Cooked with coconut milk.
Meat sweet, tender and smooth as silk.
