Just five days ago I saw my Mum,
Recommended to do so by a work
Colleague, or you’d regret it!
I was only there by her bedside
In the nursing home –
About two hours away by train –
Door-to-door – I don’t drive!
For about ten minutes at most:
Very distant – eyes open with
A tear rolling down her right cheek
Right eye welling up as I waved –
She silently waved back to me –
My second visit to her in twenty two
MONTHS – because of distance and COVID.
Also, my distance emotionally from her –
And everyone else around me –
Need to loosen up –
Emotionally and physically –
Nursing an injured right upper arm
And shoulder since 10th November, 2021
Tried three sessions of osteopathy since
Twenty-fifth November 2021:
Initial bruising has gone down, but,
It’s still very stiff up there –
My mind won’t let me push through
‘The pain barrier’ –
I’m going to have to, in order to
AVOID A FROZEN SHOULDER –
So it’s off to the GP, and hopefully
Referred to hospital for physiotherapy.
