Poetry Workshop
Newhaven Lifeboat Station
Join us at the inspiring Lifeboat Station in Newhaven, where we’ll spend a couple of hours creating some ideas and turning them into written words.
The Lifeboat Station looks out over the harbour, with fantastic views. There’s so much to see and contrast; we’ll use our observations of the location, and the goings on, to draw out contrasts and turn them into ideas we are emotionally engaged with.
Once engaged with and idea, letting the words flow becomes simpler, so we’ll use discussion, sharing, and work through some simple exercises to access this flow, pulling together a few lines that may be the start of something, or even a first draft, you never know.
Please bring a pen and something to write on, and anything you think you might need.
Tea and coffee will be provided.
The workshop will run from 11am – 1pm; please park in the Town, or use public transport, and walk down to the Lifeboat Centre.
The Lifeboat Centre is operational, and we may need to vacate the building in the event of a launch.
All proceeds to the RNLI.
